My Musing

I was a paramedic – hence the “Medic” in Medic Musing.  Being a paramedic, I saw much pain and suffering experienced by people.  My thoughts, or my musing, led me to ultimately realize how important it was to appreciate the moments, the instances, in life that make life worth living.

My journey

Photography Since 2019

Working as Paramedic for the majority of my professional life, I had many experiences that led me to question the goodness of the world. There are bad people doing bad things to others, good people who suffer, there is trauma, accidents, and abuse of the system. Such experiences led me to a degree in clinical psychology and to work to help the mental health of other emergency providers.

Later, as I began to advance, I was presented with yet another challenge. Times appeared dark, but one day, a mentor of mine made me realized that, as cliche as it may sound, I need to focus on the moment. Life, for most of us, is not filled with teddy bears and unicorns. Bad things will happen, we will be upset, and we will cry. But just as we will experience the bad, we also experience the good.

It is the good, the moments of joy, happiness, awe, thrill, love, and wonder that get us through the day. That makes me realize that there is something more, that there is beauty in the world. Photography has allowed me to capture these beautiful moments. It memorializes them, and it reminds me of the joy and beauty that exists in this world.

I want to share my musings, photos, blog, and overall content, to share the idea that while life will always throw curve balls, there is plenty for all of us to admire and enjoy.

It is not just about the amazing professional landscape photos, or the action shot of a start football player, it is about the beauty that each of us can encouter in our daily life. Our families, the birds outside, our pets, those wonderful vacations, and the occasional photo shot that will blow our minds.

It is the journey, not the arrival that matters!
